What are AMV battles?
AMV battles firstly started in Lithuanian AMV community in 2012. Those battles were quite active between editors until the end of 2016, after that activity dropped. It is a battle event where two or more editors battle between themselves. It is a good opportunity to experiment with a new genre, style, music, or practice some editing techniques with reasonably set amount of time or quick edit.

There are 3 types of battles - 1x1, Collab vs Collab and MEP vs MEP, so what is the difference between them?

1x1 Battle (battle between two editors, one from each side)

- Two editors must decide on one common thing – either it is music of their choice, genre, or source they will be focusing on. Alternatively, they can choose everything, in order to completely restrict themselves.
- They can choose deadline up to 3 weeks. It is either 2 days or 18 days. If they choose less than 3 weeks, they can extend time as long as it does not exceed 3 weeks. Both editors must agree on deadline’s extension.
- Once they have completed their works, they need to upload their work anywhere where the video can stay unlisted or alternatively, they can submit their video through our page (still under construction). They cannot share their video before deadline. After deadline – they are free to do this.
- If one of the opponents misses deadline or drops battle without a good reason, he will automatically get one defeat point and one point of misconduct, leading him into the “Board of Shame”.
- If two of them misses or drops battle without a good reason, both of them automatically will get one defeat point and one point of misconduct, leading them into the “Board of Shame”.
- It is up to the coordinator what he treats a good reason. Either it is personal issues, problems with computer or things like that.
- After editors submitted their works, coordinator will have to update the topic and create a poll where registered members can vote.
- Only registered members in the website can vote, as it will prevent from votes being fake

Collab vs Collab Battle – (battle between four editors; two from each side)

- Four editors must decide on one common thing – either it is music of their choice, genre, or source they will be focusing on. Alternatively, they can choose everything, in order to completely restrict themselves.
- They can choose deadline up to 3 weeks. It is either 2 days or 18 days. If they choose less than 3 weeks, they can extend time as long as it does not exceed 3 weeks. All editors must agree on deadline’s extension.
- Once they have completed their works, they need to upload their work anywhere where the video can stay unlisted or alternatively, they can submit their video through our page (still under construction). They cannot share their video before deadline. After deadline – they are free to do this.
- If one of the opponents from the team misses deadline or drops battle without a good reason, both of them will automatically get one defeat point. Editor, who dropped battle, will also get one point of misconduct, leading him into the “Board of Shame”.
- If two of them misses or drops battle without a good reason, both of them automatically will get one defeat point and one point of misconduct leading them into the “Board of Shame”.
- It is up to the coordinator what he treats a good reason. Either it is personal issues, problems with computer or things like that.
- After editors submitted their works, coordinator will have to update the topic and create a poll where registered members can vote.
- Only registered members in the website can vote, as it will prevent from votes being fake.

MEP vs MEP Battle – (battle between more than two editors from each team)

- Each team must have same amount of editors.
- Each team must have a team name and choose a captain, who will represent them.
- Both captains from different teams must decide on one common thing – either it is music of their choice, genre, or source they will be focusing on.
- Once they have completed their works, captain will need to upload their work anywhere where the video can stay unlisted or alternatively, they can submit their video through our page (still under construction). They cannot share their video/mep parts before deadline. After deadline – they are free to do this.
- If one of the team mates misses deadline or drops part/battle without a good reason, all the team members will automatically get one defeat point. Editor, who dropped part/battle, will also get one point of misconduct, leading him into the “Board of Shame”.
- If all team misses or drops battle without a good reason, all of the team members automatically will get one defeat point and one point of misconduct leading them into the “Board of Shame”.
- It is up to the coordinator what he treats a good reason. Either it is personal issues, problems with computer or things like that.
- After captains submitted their team works, coordinator will have to update the topic and create a poll where registered members can vote.
- Only registered members in the website can vote, as it will prevent from votes being fake.

I want to start a battle. Whom I need to contact?
First, you have to find an opponent. Once you agree on battle’s requirements, you will need to contact one of the battle’s coordinators, who will either approve or reject your battle request. Alternatively, you can join our discord and look for an opponent in one of the channels.

I am completely new in AMV community. Can I join a battle?
Yes of course! You should not be afraid of trying your skills. Anyone can battle, there is no editing level limits. All matters that if you join, you do not drop/cancel battle without a good reason.

I cannot finish my work on time. What do I do?
If the battle’s deadline has not been extended yet and you still have time before 3 weeks-time limit, inform your opponent and coordinator and ask for an extension. If you cannot come to an agreement, you can cancel battle ONLY IF the reason is serious and unexpected. However, there is a little chance that you will easily get away from not getting a defeat and a warning point. If you think, you are not ready for a battle or cannot guarantee that you will finish on time - do not start.

What are the warning points and how can you receive them?
The warning points are points showing how many times you have cancelled battles, have not delivered on time or otherwise breaking the rules and conditions of the battle.

Can I get rid of the warning points?
Yes, you can. One warning point can be easily removed by participating in one 1x1, Collab or MEP battle. That is the only way you can burn your warning points you have collected.

How do we choose winner of the battle?
As soon as we announce works, we will announce the poll, where only registered members on this page can vote. After voting is over (usually we give one week) a winner will be announced in the main page and the same topic.

Can I renew my victory/defeat points to 0 and start over again? What do I do?
Unfortunately, this function is not available. If everyone gets a chance to renew their points, those points will lose their value. As soon as you start battling and winning or losing, all points will remain for certain amount of time. Either we will be refreshing yearly, or two times in a year, it will depend on battle’s activity.

What is Hall of Fame & Board of Shame?

★ Hall of Fame - a list of people with amount of won battles. The results are counted in the following order: amount of won battles divided into lost battles. For instance, Editor A has won 5 battles and lost 2 battles (5:2) meanwhile Editor B won 10 battles and lost 1 (10:1) meaning –Editor A gets 2nd place (5:2=2,5 points), Editor B – 1st (10:1=10 points). This board is used to help editors with choosing with whom to battle.

★ Board of Shame - a list of people who dropped/failed to deliver their work on time. If the editor wants to be removed from this list, he will have to take part in amount of battles he has dropped/failed to participate without a good reason. In this case, if he wins, he will not get any victory points in the Hall of Fame board, but he will have less or none points of misconduct in the Board of Shame. This board is used to help editors with choosing with whom not to battle.

I do not want to appear in Hall of Fame/Board of Shame. What do I do?
In order to maintain order and sense of responsibility, every participant who wants or does not want, will be recorded without any exception.

Is there any rewards?
Yes, each time you win, you get one point of victory in the Hall of Fame and a special rank in our forum. As well as we are looking into adding real prizes in the future, it will depend on the activity of the battles and possible donations.

Is there any video battle requirements?
You do how you know it is better for you, as long as we can play your video on our site. If we have issues with playback, we will contact you.
